How it works -
It works by producing thousands of microscopic needle columns in the dermis of the skin, these stimulate the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely. The patient looks as though they have a mild to moderate sunburn after the procedure and normally recover the same-day with only a little residual redness the following day. The natural regeneration and repair that Genuine Dermaroller™ creates takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and the blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks for visible signs of regeneration and repair to be seen and the process will continue up to 12 months later providing a gradual and long lasting enhancement. A trained Genuine Dermaroller™ practitioner will normally recommend a series of 3 - 5 procedures with approximately 6 weeks between them.

Being TGA listed we are able to say in all of our advertisements ‘Collagen Induction’. Being TGA listed means we don’t have to constantly be looking over our shoulder in case the TGA slaps us with a fine for making false claims. It’s ironic that when cheap, Chinese or Turkish rollers are imported (and some clinics are tempted by a cheaper version) they are deciding to purchase based solely on price. They are making a decision based purely on the money they save, versus the results they can achieve for their clients (with a proven device like Dermaroller).
WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A ROLLER:
Are the rollers gamma sealed? Each treatment you perform needs to be done with a hygienic (gamma sterilised) seal. If in the manufacturing process, the devices are just washed (like most cheap rollers are) and then immediately packaged, the likelihood of those rusting is quit high. Closer inspection of cheap rollers currently sold in Australia, has revealed rust particles in those devices that are not gamma sealed. So this means, treatments performed with cheap rollers may be depositing rust particles into the skin of each patient.
Thickness of the needles: Dermaroller induces collagen by AVIODING wound healing. This is achieved by the use of very thin needles.
100% Stainless Steel: If injuring the tissue is NOT how Dermaroller stimulates the skin, then how does it? The use of 100% stainless steel is what allows a change in the skin’s electric resistance. The change is immediate and within milliseconds growth factors are released from the surrounding cells. How does a non stainless steel roller stimulate the skin?
To re-use or not to re-use: Did you know that the World Health Organisation does NOT indorse the reuse of any needles. The re-use of any needle is not an acceptable practice. Any company that promotes its skin needling device as a reusable device is potentially setting you up for malpractice. Is it worth throwing your business away because you saved yourself $40 or so by using a cheaper roller? Why are results being compromise because of the savings?
It is unfortunate that we have to compare apples with oranges here. I think it is only fair to compare Dermaroller with another roller that has the same TGA listing. Until that day comes, Dermaroller remains a true market leader, leading the charge, for skin needling throughout the world!
